This week's checklist

June 20, 2016 - With less than a week to go before the end of the Fraternal Year, 22 Virginia Councils have qualified for the Star Council Award. Many more are very close, but have not yet filed the necessary forms. See the latest check list HERE.

 

The State Deputy has issued a statement regarding a solicitation some Virginia Knights have received regarding a "Knights Business Network." Read the statement HERE.

 

The June 2016 issue of Star Council News is now available. It includes reminders about activities that must/should be completed before the Virginia Annual Convention at the end of this month.

 

The Pre-Organizational Meeting for the 2016=2017 Fraternal Year will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at St. Edward's Church and School in Richmond, Virginia. The meeting will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. and conclude not later than 3:00 p.m. This is an intensive training session for District Deputies, Grand Knights and newly appointed Financial Secretaries. The Installation and Organizational Meeting for the 2016-2017 Fraternal Year will be held on the weekend of July 9-10 at St. Edward's Church and School in Richmond, Virginia. Installation of officers will take place after the Mass which follows the business session on Saturday. There will be a Banquet and Dance in the Community Center in the evening. Deadline for hotel reservations is June 22. Full details HERE.

 

If you haven't already filed your forms VSS-4 (State Convention Delegate/Alternate) and  VSS-6 (Virginia Council Information), with information about your council's officers for the coming Fraternal Year, please do it as soon as your election has been held. Instructions are HERE.

The Holy Family Prayer Program will continue until the end of June in Virginia. Sign up your council for a special prayer service that emphasizes our belief in, and determination to strengthen, families throughout the Commonwealth.

Grand Knights, District Deputies and other Virginia state leaders:

 

It has come to our attention that a brother Knight has established an organization called "Knights Business Network," and is asking GKs to provide an introduction for him with DGKs, Chancellors and council members to promote membership in his organization.

 

We ask that you withhold participation in this effort pending a review by both the Supreme Council and Virginia State Council.  Read more HERE.

Our goal for recruiting new members in Virginia for this fraternal year is  1,381.  Schedule a First Degree Ceremony at your council soon!  More HERE.

Virginia Knights - Outstanding Council or Assembly Activity

January 10, 2016 - Rappahannock Assembly 1613 sponsored the 42nd annual Religious Freedom Day, commemorating the Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom.  More on the story HERE.

November 21, 2015 - Council 2473 hosted a huge "Family Fun Day," part of a day-long fundraising effort on behalf of the Jennifer Bush-Lawson Foundation, which supports neonatal and post natal care for the less fortunate in the Arlington area.  Read more about the event HERE.
