Midyear Meeting at E.D.W. Council in Arlington

Grand Knights and other officers from throughout the Commonwealth packed the council home at Edward Douglass White Council 2473 during the weekend of January 17-18, 2015 for the state council's midyear meeting. It was the first time in 50 years that EDW Council has hosted a state meeting, and everyone in attendance agreed that the council did a first-class job hosting the event.

State Deputy Steve Burnley added some special speakers to the opening session while spouses were in attendance, including March for Life Chairman Jeanne Monahan, Maddie Sutherland, a Fredericksburg high school student who fought for - and won - the right to start a pro-life club at her high school, and Special Olympics Ambassador David Eagan.

Virginia Chaplain Rev. Paul Loverde, the Bishop of Arlington, made a personal visit to the meeting in the afternoon.

The day-long meeting was folllowed by a Mass and dinner-dance, and a meeting of District Deputies on Sunday morning.
