Stephen P. Raschke, Sr.
State Deputy ▬ Stephen P. Raschke, Sr.
Stephen Paul Raschke Sr. was born in Baraboo Wisconsin April 29, 1953 and lived in Marshfield Wisconsin for most of his youth being the oldest of a brother and three sisters. Enjoying 12 years of Catholic School education he graduated in 1971 from Columbus High School. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland.
He entered into the United States Army in 1972, in which he served 30 years retiring with the rank of Command Sergeant Major. Steve and his family have had numerous overseas and state side assignments. In his last assignment he was the Command Sergeant Major of the US Army Transportation Corps and Regiment. In 2007, CSM Raschke was inducted into the Transportation Corps Hall of Fame. On 8 May 2015 Steve will be retiring with 13 years in government civilian service as Operations Officer for the 733rd Force Support Division, Joint Base Langley AFB/Fort Eustis at Fort Eustis Virginia.
Joining the Knights of Columbus in 1999 with Walter Pollard Council 5480 in Newport News Virginia he served in the numerous council officer positions and Grand Knight of Council 5480 from 2006 -2007. Served as the Council Church Director for the Queen of Peace Church at Fort Eustis where he also served as Lecturer. He serves on Council 5480’s 1st degree team, District 5’s, 2nd Degree team and on the State’s 3rd Degree Ceremonial Team.
In 2001 Steve and his wife Donna decided that Virginia was the right place to retire and bought a home in Gloucester and became members of the Church of St. Therese the Little Flower, in Gloucester Virginia, were he also is a Lecturer and Donna sings and plays guitar in the Choir.
In 2007-2008 he was the District Deputy for District Five followed by being the Regional Assistant for the VA South East Region from 2008 – 2009. The served as the State Council Chairman from 2009 – 2010. As Council Chairman he was the Sweepstakes Chairman and the State Bowling Tournament Co-Chairman, he has also served three times as the State Annual Meeting Golf Tournament Co-Chairman. From 2010 – 2012 he was the Virginia State Membership Director. He was elected in 2012 to be the State Warden in 2013 to be the State Advocate, in 2014 to be the State Secretary and in May 2015 was elected to be the Fraternal year 2015-2016 Virginia State Deputy.
Steve and Donna have been married for 38 years and have three children Summer (Kevin Barnes), Sean (deceased), Stephen Jr. (Kristi), and two Granddaughters, Teagan and Cassidy.
Michael J. Gasper
State Secretary ▬ Michael J. Gasper
Michael J. Gasper was born and raised in Binghamton, New York, with his two older brothers. He attended Binghamton Catholic Central High School, and the State University of New York at Buffalo, on a joint athletic and academic scholarship, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1973. During his 40 year career in Transportation Logistics in the oil, gas and coal industry, he lived in New York City, Houston, Texas, and lastly in Richmond, Virginia, since 2003.
Mike joined the Knights of Columbus in 1988, while living in Houston, and served in numerous officer positions and Grand Knight at St. Justin Martyr Council 5283 in 1990-1991. Upon moving to Richmond in 2003, he joined St. Edward Council 6546 and McMahon Assembly 2205, serving as Faithful Navigator in 2011-2012. Prior to his election in May, as State Secretary for 2015-2016, he served as State Pro-Life Chairman 2007-2009 and 2010-2012, District Deputy 2008-2010, General Programs Director 2012-2013. State Warden 2013-2014, and State Treasurer 2014-2015.
Mike and his wife of 33 years, Gerri, attend St. Edward the Confessor in Richmond, where they serve as Eucharist Ministers, and are active in the parish youth group, serving as chaperones at the Diocesan Youth Conferences and Steubenville Youth Conferences. Mike and Gerri have a daughter, Rebecca (Jonathan), and a granddaughter, Eleanor, who live in Round Rock, Texas.
Stephen J. Kehoe
State Treasurer ▬ Stephen J. Kehoe
Stephen J. Kehoe was born in St. Louis and raised in the Northern Virginia area with his older sister. Steve obtained his B.S. in Accounting at Old Dominion University. Steve has worked in both the Telecommunications and Government Contracting arena for the past 23 years.
Steve joined Fr. Francis J. Diamond Council #6292 in Fairfax in 1988, serving as Recorder, Warden, Chancellor, Deputy Grand Knight, and Grand Knight for the Fraternal Year 2008-2009. Prior to his election in May, as State Treasurer for 2015-2016, he served as District Deputy 2010-2012, Membership Director 2012-2013, General Programs Director 2013-2014, and State Advocate 2014-2015.
Steve and his wife of 17 years, Wendy, attend St. Leo the Great in Fairfax. Steve and Wendy have four children, Jordan, Ryan, Nathan, and Kaelan.
Roy F. Blakeburn
State Advocate ▬ Roy F. Blakeburn
Roy was born and raised in London, England until the age of 13. In 1968 his family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. He Joined the United States Marine Corps in 1975 and served for 20 years. He served in the 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion in Okinawa, Japan and the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion Camp Lejeune and as Drill Instructor at Parris Island. He is also a veteran of Desert Shield/Storm.
Roy joined the Mother of Teresa Calcutta Council 12117 in 1999. He has served in numerous council officer positions and was Grand Knight of Council 12117 from 2004 -2006 and was the Faithful Navigator for the Fr. Michael J. McGivney Assembly 2588 in 2009. Prior to his election in May, as State Advocate for 2015-2016, he served as State Church and Community Chairman 2008 -2009, District Deputy 2010-2012, State Retention Team 2012- 2013 and State Warden 2014-2015.
Roy and Diana have been married for 31 years and have two children Julia and Adam. They were the Virginia State Family of the Year in 2009.
State Warden ▬ Ed Polich
A native of Portland, Oregon, Ed obtained his B.S. in Business at Oregon State University and his M.B.A. from the University of Richmond. Ed has two daughters, Julia Grace, who graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2015 in Biomedical Engineering, and Emma Claire, a rising senior and a vocal performance major, both at Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a member of the Fr. Robert W. McDonald Council 395 and serves as the First Degree Team Warden and was recognized as a Two-time 1st Place State Degree Competition winner. He also is on the District 9 Second Degree Team, playing the role of the Grand Knight and holds the title of 1st Place State Degree Competition winner. He will serve as the Faithful Pilot for the Richmond Assembly in the 2015-2016 fraternal year.
Ed was appointed by the recent four State Deputies to serve the State Council as Council Activities Chairman/State Bowling Tournament Director; District Deputy 9; State Youth Director; Coordinator of the 2013 VA/TN Supreme Convention Hospitality Suite; and most recently as State Convention Chairman. He is a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, in Glen Allen, where he serves as a Lector and sings in the Music Ministry.
